   Leadership in the latest technology as well as our recruiting and retaining the finest physicians and staff in the industry has helped Haik Humble Eye Center bring residents of Northeast Louisiana over 20 years of excellence in eye care. From the exceptional products and services we provide, to our caring and dedicated doctors and support staff, Haik Humble Eye Center continues to demonstrate our commitment to eye health and the well-being of our patients each and every day. Over the past 20 years, above all else, it is our caring for people like you that has assured our sustained growth and expansion of services.

   Haik Humble Eye Center was founded in Monroe in 1983 by Raymond Haik, M.D., and Joseph Humble, M.D. This partnership became the foundation for a group practice that would later include Peter Livingston, M.D. and Thomas Parker, M.D.

   The following eye associates soon joined our practice: Alan Richards, M.D., Jay LaCour, M.D., Jim Eaton, O.D., Edward Gilcrease, O.D., Robert Pierce, O.D., and Thomas Marsala, PA-C.

   Our first office opened in Monroe but soon (December 1984) the doctors constructed our West Monroe facility which is the main hub of patient services and administrative activities. Our satellite office in Rayville opened in 1985 and the Surgery Center of West Monroe opened in May 2002, adjacent to our clinic in West Monroe. Our expansion of services includes a new location in Monroe, which opened on Valentine’s Day, 2005. All locations operate as a full-service eye-care facility and include on-site optical dispensaries.

   Our commitment to advanced technology has afforded our doctors the opportunity to become leaders in modern microsurgical procedures, making cataract surgery safer and recovery time more rapid. Our physicians designed a state-of-the-art surgery center dedicated to the advancement of medical and surgical eye care. Today, they perform cutting-edge retinal and cataract surgery procedures and travel extensively to bring eye care to third-world countries.

   The advance of laser technology used in the treatment of eye conditions has brought about significant changes in the treatment of age-related eye disease, such as retina disease and glaucoma, as well as more common conditions, such as nearsightedness. Most recently, Haik Humble Eye Center again led LASIK technology by being the first practice in Northeast Louisiana to invest in and perform CustomVue™ LASIK.

   "The technology and research performed here at Haik Humble Eye Center have allowed our physicians to give many of our patients a better quality of life," said Dr. Joseph Humble. "As we reflect on over 20 years of service to our communities, we have had the opportunity on numerous occasions to improve the quality of life for multiple generations of our patients. That is a privilege. And it is what drives us to continue to invest in the best staff, education and technology available."

   Along with the ongoing investments in technology and resources, Haik Humble Eye Center places continued emphasis on the highest level of patient care. Each physician has a dedicated nurse team so patients develop a level of comfort during their visit to our office.

   Thanks to you, our valued patients, Haik Humble Eye Center is proud to be the only practice in Northeast Louisiana that offers every aspect of eye care to the community, including pediatric eye care, contact lenses, eyeglasses, eye exams, LASIK laser vision correction, cataract, glaucoma and retinal specialties. We serve the total eye care needs of people of all ages. Yet one thing hasn’t changed over the years: our commitment to providing the highest quality eye care.
